Change Ourselves, Change the World

“If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. ... We need not wait to see what others do.”
- Mahatma Gandhi

Just Words? Read the Judea Monthly Newsletter for April

Friends,

Download and read the April Journal today!

This Sunday is the last in Pastor Cheryl's Lenten series on healing the body, mind and spirit and the focus will be on Gratitude.  And Carrie Loyd is planning a special lesson in gratitude for the Sunday School as well.  We hope you come and join us in what will possibly be the last service in the church hall.  Renovation is nearly complete and after deliberation tonight by the Church Council, the schedule for moving back into the Meeting House will likely be announced this Sunday in the quarterly congregational meeting to be held during coffee hour.

Also discussed in Sunday's quarterly meeting will be our proposed Open and Affirming (ONA) statement. You can find a copy on page 3 of the newsletter. This is a message intended to represent the collective sentiments of our congregation so do come and be a part of our church governance process!  All members are asked to attend and non-members are welcome as well.

Our April Journal is available now on our website.  The topic is "words" and the power of same.  It is a particularly appropriate topic as we are in the midst of our class on Non-Violent, or Compassionate Communication with a dedicated and even growing number of people committed to making this world a more compassionate place.  Download today and take a few moments to read through!

Oh!  And make special note of the appeal for Easter Egg Hunt supplies!!  Please read the announcement on the right and bring something along this Sunday.  Stuffing will begin next week and we are really in need of stuffers!!  The list no the right gives you some interesting suggestions...

Hope to see you on Sunday!
