Members and Friends,

Pastor Cheryl returns to the pulpit this Sunday after her renewing time away recently.  She'll be talking to us about ways to pray constantly and give thanks in all things.  Imagine being in that space of gratitude...  If you have, you know it is a wonderful feeling and just makes the days so much better no matter what you are doing.  If you have - but especially if you haven't, then you really will want to join us this Sunday at 10 am in the Meeting House sanctuary to get some tips on how to get closer to that.

I am grateful for this recent change in weather, with the rain for all the growing things (and badly needed for the reservoirs and wells), the delicious breezes and the gorgeous skies.  Though I am still grateful for that hot steamy weather we had because most of the vegetables - especially the tomatoes - have loved it and it shows!  And I am grateful for the remaining weeks of summer during which we have several end of summer activities coming up:  Blessing of the Backpacks and Sister Susie’s Allied Market on the 28th, Blessing of our Work Tools at the Pavilion on September 4, and on September 11 there will be the Homecoming/Mixing of the Waters service followed by our annual "Last Gasp of Summer" picnic with a special 275th birthday cake!

Please note that at the Allied Market, at 1:30 that day, there will be an old fashioned “Tug of War” contest.  Teams from local organizations and businesses will come together for a little friendly competition.  We need to assemble a team of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids).  If you wish to join our church team, please contact the church office.

Blessings on your week ahead,

Karen Esslinger
