Judea Weekly eNews for February 17

Friends,

The weather is supposed to be warmer this weekend so we are expecting to carry over the service we had planned for last Sunday to the 19th.  But before I get into that...

Please join us today in praying for Ginny Whittall's family as they mourn her death this week.

This Sunday, we will be celebrating Silver Lake Conference Center.  The director of Silver Lake will give the sermon, we will see a short video for a taste of the place, and those who have attended Silver Lake are invited to share a brief story of why they love it.  Please plan to come, celebrate Silver Lake - or learn more about it.

The Youth Group bake sale to raise funds for the missions activities they have planned for the rest of the year has been moved to February 26.  Be sure to come that day and support our Youth Group in their efforts and walk away with some sweet treats!

Have you heard about the DANCE PARTY we have planned in the Meeting House on Saturday, February 25th?  This grand party in the Meeting House - wide open without pews - will be to celebrate Pastor Cheryl's 20 years in the ministry here at this church and also to raise funds to help defray the cost of renovations for this old house of worship!  This is all great fun for singles, couples, and entire families and is open to the entire community! There will be lots of people in town who would love to join in the fun but may be waiting for an invitation.  Tell everyone about this and invite your friends!  The more, the merrier!!  You can read all about it in the announcement on the right, or in the monthly Judea Journal that is now available for you to download!

A recent addition to this celebration is a POT LUCK SUPPER from 5 to 7 pm so people can be fueled in body and spirit before the dancing begins.  So dig out your favorite recipe for casserole, bread, salad, dessert, whatever – and plan on bringing the prepared dish along with your dancing shoes on Saturday, February 25th

Folks, I have received a number of personal/family profiles but I need them all to keep our new photo directory moving along and hopefully completed soon.  Even if you have submitted one in past years, I need an updated one NOW in order to assure we have permissions to publish in print and online and that we have all of your correct contact information.  Emails went out to most of you last week.  If you did not receive an email but still need to submit the info, you can download a copy of the form here:  PDF - MSWord.  If you are a member or regular attender who has not officially joined the church yet, and have not gotten your portrait taken but still want to be included, contact me as soon as possible.

We are almost into March already but if you'd like to read our February Judea Journal, you can find it in our Judea Journal Archive.

Hope to see you on Sunday!
