Judea Weekly eNews for Feb 9 - Lots to celebrate!

Friends,

There have been a few corrections to the February Judea Journal – in contacts for council and staff, predominantly, but also I noticed that my thank you note on page 10 had my signature cut off in the first version.  If you want to check out the corrected version, you can find it in our Judea Journal Archive.

This Sunday, we will be celebrating Silver Lake Conference Center.  The director of Silver Lake will give the sermon, we will see a short video for a taste of the place, and those who have attended Silver Lake are invited to share a brief story of why they love it.  Our Chancel Choir will even sing a song or two that are commonly a part of the Silver Lake experience.  That same day during coffee hour, our Youth Group will be holding a bake sale to raise funds for the missions activities they have planned for the rest of the year.  Please plan to come, celebrate Silver Lake - or learn more about it - and take home some yummy home-baked goodies to support our youth group's mission efforts.  Don’t forget…  confirmation class and Teen Talk both meet on Sunday, too, after worship.

Have you heard about the DANCE PARTY we have planned in the Meeting House on Saturday, February 25th?  This grand party in the Meeting House - wide open without pews - will be to celebrate Pastor Cheryl's 20 years in the ministry here at this church and also to raise funds to help defray the cost of renovations for this old house of worship!  You can read all about it in the announcement on the right, or in the monthly Judea Journal that is now available for you to download!

A recent addition to this celebration is a POT LUCK SUPPER from 5 to 7 pm so people can be fueled in body and spirit before the dancing begins.  So dig out your favorite recipe for casserole, bread, salad, dessert, whatever – and plan on bringing the prepared dish along with your dancing shoes on Saturday, February 25th.  This is all great fun for singles, couples, and entire families! And invite your friends!  The more, the merrier!!

The online church directory is almost ready for release – but it is currently missing a good number of people who had their photos taken but for whom I have not received information profiles (this is also holding up the printed version).  Emails went out to most of you earlier this week.  If you did not receive an email but still need to submit the info, you can download a copy of the form here:  PDF - MSWord.  If you are a member or regular attender who has not officially joined the church yet, and have not gotten your portrait taken but still want to be included, contact me as soon as possible.

Enjoy the snow and see you on Sunday!
